If you call a rose with another name will it smell different?"

Lets say we can disagree with it and make over self more inclined believe that the name of the characters may urge the reader to make their appearances.

When I read the book Pride and Prejudice and I encountered the name Elizabeth it made me felt like it is a name of a girl who is very keen about her self esteem and is like a girl who has a royal touch in her life. As a matter of fact it turned out to be the truth about her.

Then I wrote a short story and I contributed it in to a competition. The story was a sci-fi and I named the lead character Adil which strongly condemn by a person.

However I believe that sometimes the name we keep of the characters are bewildering because of their certain meanings like you mentioned above "Ivy". To avoid this I have a theory of my own on which I will also write a blog.

Now their are 26 alphabets in English started from ABCD...till...Z and each has a number like "A" becomes 1 "B" becomes 2 and "Z" becomes 26. Now take any number from your life that is very dear to you like 322688913 now this will become "Cvfhhiam". I know it is a little absurd but I find it intriguing because the word has no meaning. Hope you like it.
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11277889936324372699noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4718552739628184304.post-5694855495181183342013-12-22T04:04:08.927+00:002013-12-22T04:04:08.927+00:00Names are important. I understand that it can completely change the perspective of the reader ... but usually only in the 'first' perception.

Perhaps one of my favorite characters in literature is "Pug." I can still recall the first time I read it and thought, what a stupid name! By the time I'd finished reading the series, the name had become the personification of the name and not the other way around.

There are actually several other character names that run a similar gauntlet. So I'd recommend that you not be "too" terribly concerned about a name as long as it is something you relate with. delzoghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02299315991757009465noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4718552739628184304.post-73364392241340683532013-10-04T01:57:21.380+01:002013-10-04T01:57:21.380+01:00all of the above grammatical errors, but its was p...all of the above grammatical errors, but its was pretty good :) I like it. I recently did the same thing - I used to laugh about G+ when I was on Facebook, but I began to realize I was wasting hours and hours of my day on Facebook and getting nothing accomplished, so I deactivated my account. After a few weeks, I found myself with lots of free time but I was honestly getting a bit bored - I wish I would have made the leap a long time ago! I love it over on Google+! I'm going to start writing with the 5am group over there on Monday morning - it makes me shudder to think about it, but I think it's going to be a good time of day for me. Best of luck to you!Cherstin Hagahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02918566101257165161noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4718552739628184304.post-50408232771277510072013-08-07T18:18:32.353+01:002013-08-07T18:18:32.353+01:00It certainly interested me to know more, but the l...It certainly interested me to know more, but the language is a bit over the top. Well done :) Have a think about adverbs & adjectives, though, it's easy for us writers to overdo them a bit, so see which ones you can take out to improve the overall flow of the writing. With the surge of self-published writers, it's now fast becoming more of the 'norm'as opposed to the traditional way. So it's definitely worth looking into as an option.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02753077080605040187noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4718552739628184304.post-86947353674771663002013-08-04T04:35:01.475+01:002013-08-04T04:35:01.475+01:00But what did you actually say in that post?
